Isomass Screedcheck system is designed to be placed within a masonry structural floor directly below the screed to reduce impact sound transmission through concrete floors.
It is a closed cell elastomeric layer that has been designed to be placed within a masonry structural floor directly below the screed. This serves to isolate the screed from the structural sub floor, and provide sufficient impact absorbsion to place it amongst the top performing systems available today.
By ensuring that all the joints are taped, bridging will be eliminated which is the single greatest cause of failure of any system of this type.
Isomass Screedcheck has been tested to BS EN 29052-1: 1992 and satisfies the dynamic stiffness requirement with a figure of 10MN/m3.
When installed correctly this system will enable compliance with Approved Document E 2003 and subsequent amendments in 2004. Additional information
Tested as a single 10mm layer.
Closed cells prevents water transmission which can impair acoustic performance.
Rolls are light and easy to handle.
All installations over 250m2 come with a free site inspection prior to laying the screed. Applications
To be used on concrete floors with a screed finish.
Note: All installations come with a free site inspection prior to laying the screed. Performance (on the constructions illustrated)
Treated floor with Isomass Screedcheck:
Construction complies with the latest version of Approved Document E of the building regulations. Under separate UKAS laboratory tests it was also found to provide an impact improvement of 18dB ΔLw when placed below a 65mm sand/cement screed. |

Specification
The acoustic floor shall be:
Isomass Screedcheck, supplied by Isomass Ltd. St Johns Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS and installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions / recommendations.
|

- 80kg/m2 sand / cement screed or 65mm proprietary screed.
- Isomass Screedcheck.
- ≥300kg/m2 minimum structural sub floor.
- 75mm min. void formed by metal frame suspended ceiling system and ≥10kg/m2 gypsum board ceiling (left) or
- 50mm timber battens with 8kg/m2 plasterboard on resilient bars @ 400mm centres perpendicular to batten direction or MF ceiling (right).

Installation
The floor surface should be swept free of any loose debris that may damage or bridge the system.
Isomass Screedcheck should be rolled out to the wall edge. The edge should be lifted and the perimeter flanking strip pushed under so that the crease is in line with the floor edge. The remainder of the flanking should be turned up all vertical surfaces to allow a minimum 50mm to protrude above the intended FFL of the screed. 100mm wide tape should then be applied over the top.
Adjoining roll edges should be butt jointed and sealed with an isocheck 100 to 150mm wide jointing tape.

Full installation instructions for Isomass Screedcheck are available upon request. These must be used in conjunction with this booklet when laying the Isomass Screedcheck floor system.
